Cinema.

For Montage Film Reviews (mfr) cinema is an art form we think academically about, which at its absolute best comments on contemporary culture.

We focus on world cinema which we define as non-English language and this ties in nicely with our focus on literature in translation; animation/anime which ties in nicely with our focus on manga and graphic novels and vintage which we define as pre-1980. Additionally, we focus on the best TV shows, and gaming.

This section of the website is a library of undergraduate and post graduate essays that are 5000 words long on average. These essays can be located by using the search bar below. You can search via the mfr core themes, film genre, year of theatrical release, cast and crew name and of course film title.

We also have a short film library and this ties in nicely with our focus on the short story.
